What should I do if my SurfTab® xintron i 7.0 is not recognized by the Android Debug Bridge (ADB)?

Firstly, make sure that the USB debugging mode is activated in the SurfTab® xintron i 7.0 developer options. If the developer options are not displayed, go to "Settings" -> "About Tablet" and tap "Build number" until "Developer options" appears under "System" (under Android™ 5.1.1 as a new option in "Settings"). Ensure that you have already installed and configured the latest Android SDK.

For Windows:
Go to the Windows device manager and check whether there is a device marked with a yellow exclamation mark (!) that corresponds to your tablet. Right click this entry and select "Properties". In the "Driver" tab, click "Update driver's software". In the window that follows, select the option "Browse my computer for driver software" and enter the path where the unzipped TREKSTOR "android_winusb" driver is located. If you receive a message during installation that prompts you to not install this driver, confirm with "Install this driver software".

Windows and MAC OS X:
It is now necessary to configure the ADB for the TREKSTOR tablet. You must add the TrekStor Vendor-ID (0x1e68) to the "adb_usb.ini" file in the hidden ".android" folder. To do so, proceed as follows:

1. Open the command prompt and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the SurfTab® xintron i 7.0 has been recognised by opening "cmd.exe" and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

1. Open the terminal window and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the device has been recognised by opening „Terminal“ and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

How do I connect an external USB device to my SurfTab?

External USB devices such as USB-Sticks can be connected directly via the Micro-USB socket of the SurfTab or by using a Micro-USB host adapter cable.

-> To be able to move files between your SurfTab and an external storage device, you need an app that functions as a file browser (such as the "ES File Explorer" or the "FileBrowser"). In case there is no file browser app installed on your SurfTab, you can download and install such an app via Google Play Store (see operating instructions).

a) Connect the external USB storage device to the SurfTab and wait approximately 20 seconds.
c) You can now load, copy, delete or move files as usual using your file explorer app.

-> The power supply of the SurfTab may not be sufficient to ensure that all the functions of the connected USB device work properly. For this reason, make sure that you supply additional power to external USB devices via a charging cable.
