Which options do I have to install downloaded applications from my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G on an external medium (memory card, USB stick etc.)?  

No, this is not possible. You can install apps only on the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G.

How do I access external storage devices (USB stick, SD card) on my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?  

When you connect an external storage device, the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G displays a message to the effect that a device has been connected. Once this message is no longer visible, you can use a file explorer app (such as ‘ES File Explorer’ or ‘FileBrowser’ etc., available from the Google Play Store) to access and manage your data (copy, delete, edit).

How can I upgrade my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G to a newer version of Android™?  

If a firmware upgrade is available for your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G, you can download it on our homepage under ‘Downloads’. A firmware upgrade may also be downloaded directly to your device via OTA, depending on your device.

Tip: Do not install any firmware on your device unless it is provided by us. Installing external firmware or custom ROMs may result in a loss of all warranty claims!

How do I add more storage space to my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?  

Your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G has a memory card slot. Insert a card in order to add internal storage to it. Please consult the technical details of your device to learn which cards are compatible with it (in the technical data on the website (most up to date) or in the detailed operating instructions). These cards can be purchased in any electronics store.

Please note that it is not possible to guarantee 100 per cent compatibility of microSD cards (see “Why doesn’t my device recognise my microSD memory card?”).

How do I connect my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G to a Wi-Fi network? (Android™ 5.1 / 5.1.1)  

a) Select "Settings" from the applications menu or the quick menu. This is where you will find the "Wi-Fi" item. Tap "Wi-Fi".
b) Slide the on/off switch from left to right.
c) All available wireless networks will be displayed in the following window.
d) Tap the network that you would like to connect to. An input window appears. Enter the network key ("Password") for the wireless network you have selected and tap "Connect".
e) Your Surftab will connect to the Internet via the wireless network you have selected. You can now surf the Internet using a browser app.

-> Once you have established a connection to a WiFi network, your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G will automatically connect to it as soon as it is within reach. It is not necessary to re-enter the network key.

-> To save power, it is advisable to turn off the WiFi function when it is not in use.

How do I download apps using Google Play on my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?  

You must sign in using a Gmail account to use the Google Play Store on your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G. You can sign in to your account when you open the Play Store app for the first time. If you do not yet have a Gmail account, you can set one up now.

How do I reset my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G to factory settings?  

a) Open the applications menu and tap ‘Settings’.

b) Scroll down in the menu and tap the ‘Backup & reset’ option.

c) Then tap ‘Factory data reset’ and confirm this option.

Note that selecting this option will delete all data that has been subsequently installed (apps, login information, e-mail accounts etc.). This does not affect data stored on an external storage device.

How do I select my language if German is set as default language on my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?  

After switching on the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G, the start screen appears. To set the user interface to the desired language, please tap inside the applications menu on "Settings" and afterwards on "Language & input". Tap now in the right column on the first field "Language" and select your language.

What if I do not find the menu item Language & input under Settings on my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G? In what direction should I swipe my finger across the screen to get to the menu items further down on the page?  

The displacement of the touch screen works in exactly the opposite direction as you would scroll down the computer screen using a mouse:  if you want to push the display on your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G down (for example to reach menu items positioned further down on the list, put your fingertips on the screen and swipe upwards. The display follows your movement and elements positioned further down on the display slide upward.

Why does my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G not recognize the newly inserted SIM card?  

When inserting the SIM card into your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G please always make sure that the Surftab is completely switched off and is not merely in standby mode. If you have inserted a SIM card into the turned-on Surftab, then after inserting simply turn the Surftab completely off and on again.

How do I switch between the front- and the backcamera on my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?  

In the camera settings (see instructions), look for a camera symbol surrounded by an arrow. Tap this symbol to switch back and forth between the two cameras of the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G.

What solutions do I have if my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G is not responding?  

If you can no longer use the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G or if the device no longer responds to input, reset the device. Press and hold down the on/off button until the device switches off. Wait for about 20 seconds and then turn the device on normally.

Why does my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G turn on when I connect it to a power source? Is that normal?  

Yes, this is perfectly normal. It allows you to see the charge level of the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G. If you perform no further actions, the device will switch to standby mode as it continues to charge.

Why does my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G don't charge? What can I do?  

Check whether your SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G is properly connected to the charger. If your device still does not charge, connect it to your computer using the USB cable provided. This will allow you to determine whether the charger or battery is defective.

What should I do if my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G is not recognized by the Android Debug Bridge (ADB)?  

Firstly, make sure that the USB debugging mode is activated in the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G developer options. If the developer options are not displayed, go to "Settings" -> "About Tablet" and tap "Build number" until "Developer options" appears under "System" (under Android™ 5.1.1 as a new option in "Settings"). Ensure that you have already installed and configured the latest Android SDK.

 

For Windows:
Go to the Windows device manager and check whether there is a device marked with a yellow exclamation mark (!) that corresponds to your tablet. Right click this entry and select "Properties". In the "Driver" tab, click "Update driver's software". In the window that follows, select the option "Browse my computer for driver software" and enter the path where the unzipped TREKSTOR "android_winusb" driver is located. If you receive a message during installation that prompts you to not install this driver, confirm with "Install this driver software".

 

Windows and MAC OS X:
It is now necessary to configure the ADB for the TREKSTOR tablet. You must add the TrekStor Vendor-ID (0x1e68) to the "adb_usb.ini" file in the hidden ".android" folder. To do so, proceed as follows:

 

Windows:
1. Open the command prompt and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G has been recognised by opening "cmd.exe" and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

 

MAC OSX:
1. Open the terminal window and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the device has been recognised by opening „Terminal“ and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

What can I do if my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G screen flickers?  

This is a setting in the Development Settings of the Android operating system serving for programmers to visualize which part of the screen is being updated.
This setting can be easily deactivated via the menu item "Dev Tools" -> "Development Settings" -> "Show screen updates" by un-checking the box.

Why does the front camera of my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G displays the image mirrored?  

Yes. Before the shutter button is pressed, the front camera shows a mirror image. But the photo is saved in the way it looks in reality.

Which eBook formats are compatible with my SurfTab® breeze 9.6 quad 3G?
