How do I turn on and off the eBook Reader? (eBook Reader Pyrus maxi)  

To turn on the eBook Reader, slide the power switch to the right and hold for 3 seconds. Wait a few seconds for the home screen. To turn off your eBook Reader, slide the power switch ä to the right and hold for 3 seconds.
Confirm by pressing the OK button. Your eBook Reader will turn off.

What can I do if my eBook Reader does not turn on?  

Charging the battery
Possibly your device is fully discharged. Please charge your eBook Reader via a charger or connect the eBook Reader via the supplied USB cable to your PC.

How do I charge the eBook reader through the power socket?  

Yes. The device can be charged using a USB charger.
The following specifications are recommended: 5 V, max. 1 A or 5 V, max. 10 W.

How do I put the eBook Reader into standby mode? (eBook Reader Pyrus maxi)  

Slide the power switch briefly to the right to activate the standby mode. The standby screen will appear. To read further at the same place, slide the power switch briefly to the right again.

My eBook Reader is not recognized by Adobe® Digital Editions. What can I do?  

a) Disconnect the eBook Reader from your computer and restart Adobe® Digital Editions. Then connect the device again to the computer.
b) Check, if the eBook Reader has been recognized by the computer.
c) If this does not work, restart your computer. Start the program Adobe Digital Editions and connect to the eBook Reader again via the USB port.
d) If none of the previous methods has been successful, then format the device by going to the Menu --> Settings --> Format device.
CAUTION: Back up ALL data stored in the eBook Reader before formatting the device as the data will be deleted during the formatting.
Turn off the device after formatting by pressing and holding the power button for 2 to 3 seconds. Then turn on the power again, start Adobe Digital Editions and connect the device to your computer via USB port.

Why is the text not displayed correctly for books in PDF format?  

The presentation of the text in PDF files can be changed through the Reflow function. The plain text is displayed via this function, however, pictures and graphics are not displayed. To activate the Reflow function for a PDF file, open the PDF and select the Options Menu using the Menu button. Now, go to "Text only (Reflow)" and select "On (Reflow)". In order to return to the original view, select "Off (Original)".

How do I copy eBooks / other files to the eBook Reader?  

DRM copy-protected books:
Open Adobe® Digital Editions and connect the eBook Reader to the computer. You can now copy the acquired / purchased eBook to your device by dragging and dropping (or copy & paste). Just click on the eBook and drag it, with pressed left mouse key, to your reader (entry in TrekStor / eReader under the shelves).

Books without DRM / photos:
eBooks without copy protection can simply be stored in the main directory (My Computer (Windows® XP), Computer (Windows Vista®, Windows 7), Finder (Mac®)) using drag and drop (or copy & paste).

When I flip the pages, the text of the previous page shines through (Ghosting). What is it and what can I do to prevent it?  

'Ghosting' is a normal effect that can occur in digital ink displays. When multiple pages are selected in sequence without letting the display to refresh fully, it may happen that "remains" of the previous pages appear on the following pages.
Ghosting can be prevented by frequently refreshing the display. This, however, requires more power than a less frequent refreshing. You can choose on your eBook Reader, after how many pages the device performs a complete page refresh.
You can change the Page Refresh interval in the displayed book by selecting the Refresh Display option under the Options Menu.

How big should the memory card be for an expansion?  

The device supports memory cards (microSDHC) with a capacity up to 32 GB.

What do i do when my eBook reader freezes while scolling?  

Performing a reset
If your eBook Reader no longer responds, you can restart it by pressing the reset button on the back of the device. To do this, you will need a small pin or a paper clip.

Attention: Please do not use needles or similar sharp objects, because you can damage your eBook Reader.
