Front and rear camera
The Surftab Twin 10.1 features a 2 MP webcam, so you can always look your best during video chats with family, friends or acquaintances. In addition, the 2 MP rear camera takes photos and videos in solid quality.

Troubleshooting

Why does my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) not recognize the newly inserted SIM card?  

When inserting the SIM card into your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) please always make sure that the Surftab is completely switched off and is not merely in standby mode. If you have inserted a SIM card into the turned-on Surftab, then after inserting simply turn the Surftab completely off and on again.

What solutions do I have if my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) is not responding?  

If you can no longer use the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) or if the device no longer responds to input, reset the device. Press and hold down the on/off button until the device switches off. Wait for about 20 seconds and then turn the device on normally.

What should I do if my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) is not recognized by the Android Debug Bridge (ADB)?  

Firstly, make sure that the USB debugging mode is activated in the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) developer options. If the developer options are not displayed, go to "Settings" -> "About Tablet" and tap "Build number" until "Developer options" appears under "System" (under Android™ 5.1.1 as a new option in "Settings"). Ensure that you have already installed and configured the latest Android SDK.

 

For Windows:
Go to the Windows device manager and check whether there is a device marked with a yellow exclamation mark (!) that corresponds to your tablet. Right click this entry and select "Properties". In the "Driver" tab, click "Update driver's software". In the window that follows, select the option "Browse my computer for driver software" and enter the path where the unzipped TREKSTOR "android_winusb" driver is located. If you receive a message during installation that prompts you to not install this driver, confirm with "Install this driver software".

 

Windows and MAC OS X:
It is now necessary to configure the ADB for the TREKSTOR tablet. You must add the TrekStor Vendor-ID (0x1e68) to the "adb_usb.ini" file in the hidden ".android" folder. To do so, proceed as follows:

 

Windows:
1. Open the command prompt and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) has been recognised by opening "cmd.exe" and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

 

MAC OSX:
1. Open the terminal window and enter the command "echo 0x1e68 >> $HOME/.android/adb_usb.ini".
2. Now check whether the device has been recognised by opening „Terminal“ and entering the commands "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" in succession.

What can I do if my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) screen flickers?  

This is a setting in the Development Settings of the Android operating system serving for programmers to visualize which part of the screen is being updated.
This setting can be easily deactivated via the menu item "Dev Tools" -> "Development Settings" -> "Show screen updates" by un-checking the box.

When I try to start a video recording on my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017), an error message is displayed and recording does not start. What can I do?

When you connect an external storage device, the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) displays a message to the effect that a device has been connected. Once this message is no longer visible, you can use a file explorer app (such as ‘ES File Explorer’ or ‘FileBrowser’ etc., available from the Google Play Store) to access and manage your data (copy, delete, edit).

d) Tap the network that you would like to connect to. An input window appears. Enter the network key ("Password") for the wireless network you have selected and tap "Connect".
e) Your Surftab will connect to the Internet via the wireless network you have selected. You can now surf the Internet using a browser app.

-> Once you have established a connection to a WiFi network, your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) will automatically connect to it as soon as it is within reach. It is not necessary to re-enter the network key.

-> To save power, it is advisable to turn off the WiFi function when it is not in use.

How do I download apps using Google Play on my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017)?  

You must sign in using a Gmail account to use the Google Play Store on your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017). You can sign in to your account when you open the Play Store app for the first time. If you do not yet have a Gmail account, you can set one up now.

The displacement of the touch screen works in exactly the opposite direction as you would scroll down the computer screen using a mouse:  if you want to push the display on your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) down (for example to reach menu items positioned further down on the list, put your fingertips on the screen and swipe upwards. The display follows your movement and elements positioned further down on the display slide upward.

Yes, this is perfectly normal. It allows you to see the charge level of the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017). If you perform no further actions, the device will switch to standby mode as it continues to charge.

Why does my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) don't charge? What can I do?  

Check whether your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) is properly connected to the charger. If your device still does not charge, connect it to your computer using the USB cable provided. This will allow you to determine whether the charger or battery is defective.

Why does the front camera of my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) displays the image mirrored?  

Yes. Before the shutter button is pressed, the front camera shows a mirror image. But the photo is saved in the way it looks in reality.

Why is my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) charging slowly?  

If you have connected the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) for charging and set your device at high exposure at the same time (eg movie playback at 100 % display brightness while surfing, chatting or playing), the battery is charging very slow due to the stress. We recommend you therefore to load the device in the off state.

Why is no sound coming from my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017)?  

You may have headphones connected to your SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017). If headphones are connected the loudspeaker of the device is automatically turned off. Disconnect the headphones from the device to re-enable the speakers. If there is still no sound, check if the sound of the device is turned on and if the volume is set high enough.

Why can't I turn on my SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017)?  

Perhaps the charge of the battery isn't enough to turn the SURFTAB TWIN 10.1 (2017) on. Connect the charger to the device to recharge the batttery.
